Position Purpose
The Hospitality Supervisor - Catering plays a key role in creating exceptional dining experiences by leading and supporting the execution of catered events such as breakfasts, coffee breaks, luncheons, dinners, receptions, and off-site functions.
Working under the direction of the Catering Sales Manager and Hospitality Manager - Catering, and in close collaboration with culinary and operations teams, this position ensures that all events are executed seamlessly, meet client specifications, and reflect Sodexo Live!'s high standards for accuracy, efficiency, quality, and financial performance.
Responsibilities
Operational Excellence & Event Execution
Review and follow all Banquet Event Orders (BEOs); clarify specifications with the Catering Sales Manager as needed.
Coordinate and verify delivery of event supplies, including china, glassware, silver, linen, and other items, ensuring accuracy with BEO requirements.
Conduct pre-function walkthroughs to confirm cleanliness, proper setup, and readiness of event spaces.
Supervise event flow, maintain clear communication with the kitchen, and resolve issues quickly to ensure flawless execution.
Team Leadership & Training
Oversee catering staff, ensuring punctuality, proper uniform, and professional grooming.
Assign responsibilities, provide training, and communicate event details to servers and bartenders.
Monitor service standards throughout the event, ensuring staff remain attentive, efficient, and guest-focused.
Manage scheduling of breaks and enforce proper time and attendance policies.
Guest Experience & Service Standards
Uphold Sodexo Live!'s standards for hospitality and guest satisfaction.
Address guest concerns promptly and professionally, ensuring issues are resolved so that no guest leaves dissatisfied.
Fulfill special guest requests and oversee adjustments to enhance the event experience.
Food & Beverage Compliance
Enforce all sanitary practices for safe food handling and service.
Supervise alcohol service to ensure compliance with legal requirements and responsible service standards.
Oversee bar operations, including cash and liquor inventory security.
Post-Event Duties
Coordinate the safe storage or appropriate disposal of leftover food as directed by the Manager or Chef.
Provide feedback and recommendations for continuous improvement of service and efficiency.
