    Role Responsibilities

    • First point of contact for quality, maintenance, housekeeping, safety, 5S and service issues arising on shift.
    • Manage and enforce safety policies and procedures to minimize incidence of injury and reduce number of recordable injuries.
    • Training and onboarding new employees in their roles.
    • Constant personnel safety awareness and take corrective action to prevent safety issues.
    • Responsible for meeting or exceeding production targets while maintaining safety and quality standards.
    • Assign and direct tasks on a shift basis. Also be on-call after hours to troubleshoot any production issues.
    • Ensure housekeeping standards are met within assigned areas.
    • Responsible for updating and managing production employee shift schedules.
    • Planning and scheduling Production
    • Maintain inventory/ordering of production materials and ingredients.
    • Minimize downtime by providing necessary technical support and process troubleshooting.
    • Assist in maintenance planning for shutdown periods and provide operation support during shutdown.
    • Manage SAP production movements and monthly and year end documentation
    • Review and revise standard work instructions, confined space entry and LOTO documents
    • Provide information for process improvements.
    • Lead Daily Huddle - Tier 3 meetings- Review KPIs and plant performance.
    • Analyze Trends on the SCADA system for troubleshooting and process optimization.

    Qualifications

    • Post-secondary education (Mechanical / Electrical Engineering Degree or Diploma would be considered an asset)
    • Minimum 5 years-experience with progressive responsibility in processing or manufacturing facility (preferably in food, beverage)
    • Solid understanding of manufacturing processes.
    • Ability to Identify and create requests for repairs (strong ability to troubleshoot, both electrical and mechanical).
    • Innovative, detail oriented, and bring excellent interpersonal, influencing, and communication and leadership skills.
    • Team player who thrives on a challenge and can interact positively with employees at all levels within the organization.
    • Demonstrated ability to delegate and a desire to coach and develop people.
    • Experience supervising employees and performance management.
    • Good oral and written communication.
    • Competent computer skill, numeracy, and accuracy.
    • Strong problem solving and decision-making abilities.
    • Experience and ability to lead and manage in change.
    • Ability to operate with minimal supervision in ambiguity.
    • Union environment experience (preferably in a supervisory role)
    • Demonstrated ability to use problem solving/root cause analysis tools.
