Quality Lab Manager

Role Responsibilities

Role Responsibilities

(This position reports directly to the Sr. Quality Manager)

• This position will be responsible for the management and execution of quality assurance/control programs and systems within the Frankfort Quality Laboratory.

• Ensuring all liquid analysis from receipt of materials to finished products adhere to the established quality and regulatory standards

Position Responsibilities

• Manage Quality Laboratory Chemists and Technicians

• Responsible for the development, implementation and maintenance of all lab practices

• Ensure compliance with regulatory and Global Quality requirements

• Ensure tests and procedures are understood and properly carried out

• Ensure quality lab procedures, work instructions and associated documentation are properly developed, reviewed, implemented and updated

• Reviews all laboratory equipment needs and responsible for overseeing all lab equipment maintenance/calibration are carried out to ensure we are meeting our compliance to standards

• Perform sensory and analytical evaluations of products

• Promote the ownership of quality to the employees performing quality activities

• Direct, monitor and control of the laboratory budget

• Promote Quality, Food Safety, Environmental and Safety standards and performance improvement throughout the organization

• Support Diversity & Inclusion initiatives through individual and departmental goals and objectives

• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Qualifications and Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in chemistry, food science, biology, or related field

• Demonstrated leadership skills, including previous experience in a management or supervisory role leading people

• Minimum of 5 years applicable laboratory experience within the last 10 years

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

• Strong organization and prioritization skills along with outstanding written and verbal communication skills

• Excellent working knowledge of the TTB regulations

• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to deal effectively and diplomatically with company personnel at all levels of management with demonstrated leadership

• Experience using Windows operating systems

• Experience with SAP software preferred

• Must be willing and able to taste alcoholic beverages - Sensory experience preferred
