Mission of Role
Lead**/**Supervise the daily activities of the security staff. Ensure protection of employees and guests, property, and product integrity and company's reputation through compliance with policies, protocols, and regulations. Provide Strategic Planning and project management for all security projects. Lead, implement and help teach all WPV and Security Training Programs for James B. Beam Distilling Co. (JBBDCo.) Clermont and Booker Noe Facilities.
Manage all security functions to ensure the security of both employees and physical assets. Provide technical guidance to other OU security professionals and senior management on significant security issues that could threaten our employees or operations.
Includes the security of both domestic and international shipments, inclusive of cyclical risk assessments - technical and physical security operations - corporate and criminal investigations - executive travel and event security - critical incident management and recovery - support of HR concerns and initiatives - support of Health and Safety initiatives - support of IT security initiatives - supply chain security initiatives from "seed to sip"; to include CTPAT registration. Management of third party contracted security services.
Role Responsibilities
These are the essential functions of the position but not limited to these activities:
Regular video monitoring of all recorded sites and ability to track incidents through CCTV equipment
Responsible for all fire protection of JBBDCo. Kentucky sites
Responsible for All FM Global JBBDCo responses that assist the Global Director of Risk
Manage companywide security including access controls, Security cameras, Alarms, locks, and keys for JBBDCo facilities/to include The Global Innovation Center.
Conduct monthly Safety and Security audits. Coordinate correction of deficiencies with appropriate manager
Manage EMT/first responder program and coordinate emergency response at plant until more highly trained personnel arrive
Coordinates efforts with outside Insurance & governmental agencies such as police, fire, ambulance, rescue, and property insurance as needed
Promote plant security and "Protect the Castle" for employees, contractors, and visitors.
Manage Security Operations Center (SOC) which monitors security at the Clermont campus, Booker Noe and remote locations, ensuring that systems remain operational.
Additional Role and Responsibilities
Ability to be flexible and prioritize safety/security events that arise. Providing guidance to other sites on security concerns or issues.
Develop and implement a security strategy, including operating procedures related to the protection of our assets (People, product, property, reputation etc.)
Develop partnerships with Corporate, HR, Legal, and all Leadership Teams at JBBDCo. and other sites.
Manage third party security personnel, contract, and provide oversight, training, and support for all security professionals, leads, and supervisors.
Create a JBBDCo Security Plans for Clermont and Booker Noe facilities and continuously update to identify, mitigate, test, and re-evaluate our security vulnerabilities.
Co-Lead for the JBBDCo Security Behavior Threat Assessment Team and function as the Subject Matter Expert for WPV issues.
Implement and teach Security Situational Awareness trainings.
Manage all inspections on all fire extinguishers monthly (With a Fire Safety Contractor). Ensure all fire extinguisher servicing and maintenance meet NFPA codes
Manage JBBDCo. Life Safety Systems for all Emergencies (Weather, Fire, Police, etc.)
Incident Commander for Security related Incidents (Share with General Manager and Health and Safety Manager)

Coordinate repairs and signaling deficiencies with fire detection equipment and all CCTV equipment
Manage relationships with vendors
Manage relationships with all first responders (Fire, Police, EMS, Search and Rescue, Emergency Management Director, Utility Services)
Manage purchasing and receiving in BuyWise (Ariba)
Manage Emergency Notification System (CAPSOL)
Manage JBBDCo. contractor/visitor sign in system.
Develop and implement a global security strategy, including operating procedures, consistent with Senior Security Executive Standard (ASIS SSE - 2022), to protect people and physical assets. This includes, but is not limited to physical assets, travel security, executive protection, events and promotional activity, and transportation security. Operating procedures include risk assessments, policies, procedures, training, monitoring of controls, threat detection and reporting.
Manage security budget of $2.3 million.
Collaborate with HR on any union issues, including planning the Collective Bargaining Agreement.
Perform security surveys to identify vulnerabilities, and in collaboration with the Global Director of Safety and Security and Global Risk Director, implement risk mitigation measures that align with goals of the business.
Be available 24x7 and respond to security incidents as necessary, keeping Sr. Leaders and Global Safety and Security Director and Director of Risk Management informed.
Develop security awareness training programs, as needed, that are tailored to the specific security risks faced by each production facility or office.
Own the global OU security standards, collaborating with IT security, global health and safety, and SGS risk management to define and continuously improve the SGS standard.
Audit and coach other sites to develop and execute a plan to raise their security to meet the standard.
Coach and develop security capability at all Kentucky sites - potentially the same globally.
Ensure compliance with C-TPAT requirements and perform periodic audits. In collaboration with Sr. Leaders, Director of Safety and Security and Director of Global Safety and Security Director.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree plus 5 or more years of experience in Law Enforcement/Military/Security related field, with a minimum of 5 years in a leadership position (10 or more years in Law Enforcement/Military/Security related Field with a minimum of 5 years in a leadership position is a substitute for a bachelor's degree)
Working knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and NFPA regulations
Ability to make critical decisions and stay calm in emergency situations
Working knowledge of computer applications, word, excel, fire panels and video recording equipment
SAP, HACCP, and ISO or Continuous Improvement knowledge preferred
Physical capabilities to access all areas of the plant to include climbing stairs
Must have adequate vision corrected to 20 / 20
Strong leadership and team building skills, able to train and motivate
Excellent communication skills, both internal and external, and the ability to communicate at all levels of the organization (upward, downward, and latterly)
Self-starting, works well independently with little supervision, as well as a good team player
Valid driver's license
Additional Qualifications
Experience/Knowledge of U.S. Customs C-TPAT guidelines.
Experience managing a budget.
Experience managing multiple sites a plus.
ASIS - Certified Protection Professional (CPP).
Certified Threat Manager thru the Association of Threat Assessment Professional Program
Experience managing third party contracts and personnel.
ATAP Certification - Certified Threat Manager (Cert)
Travel Expected: up to 30% between sites
