    Position summary

    ced multifaceted team operating 22 hours a day, 5 days a week providing outstanding service to the Bank's Internal Partners as well as other Global Financial Institutions

    Department Overview

    TD Bank Group is regulated by and subject to supervision and examination by the Office of Superintendent of Financial Institutions (Canada) and other regulators of financial institutions in various jurisdictions in which TDBG carries its business.

    To comply with the statutes set by the financial regulators, the Message Filter Group is responsible for monitoring all inbound and outbound SWIFT messages for potential regulatory and reputational risk against sanctioned lists such as OSFI, OFAC, EU, UN Suppression of Terrorism, Bank of England

    Key responsibilities:

    • Screening of all blocked inbound and outbound messages held by Sanction Screening platform against sanctioned regulatory lists

    • Releasing of false positives on a timely basis and ability to prioritize time sensitive transactions during APAC hours

    • Analyse flagged transactions prior to releasing or rejecting real time or hold for further investigation by utilising various internal and external systems in accordance with department

    • Gather additional information, review supporting documentation and analyse data to assess the legitimacy of the transaction

    • Escalate potential matches to Sanction Screening Governance team for their review when necessary

    • Investigate payments messages that have issues within the payment process and ensure all investigation are monitored, follow up and resolved

    • Provide first point of contact support for email and/or SWIFT correspondence and ensure all queries from both internal and external clients are acted upon in a timely and professional manner

    • Support the timely and accurate completion of business processes and procedures according to Service Level Agreement (SLA) requirements.

    • Staying abreast on industry regulations, best practices and emerging trends related to sanction screening

    • Proactively identify trends and patterns to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of monitoring activities

    • Report / escalate risk issues identified or process gaps

    • Assist in UAT, BCP testing and other ad-hoc projects

    Job Requirements

    • Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in sanction screening
    • Strong understanding of SWIFT
    • Knowledge of international sanctions and compliance policies would be a plus
    • Knowledge of various systems such as ESF Pelican, PMG, Swift Alliance, IntelliTracs, AS400 would be an advantage.
    • Self-motivated individual with good time management skills
    • Team player and ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
    • Analytical and excellent attention to detail
    • Innovative mindset to improve processes to minimize risk and increase efficiency
    • Flexibility to work during public holidays (details to be discussed during interviews)
    • This role requires working the following shifts on a rotating schedule:
      • 7.30am - 4.00pm / 8.30am - 5.00pm

      • 11am - 7.30pm / 11.30am - 8.00pm
