Staff Accountant

Job Functions

• Record accounting journal entries daily for a variety of cash transactions across multiple accounts to ensure accurate financial documentation.

• Prepare daily and month-end bank reconciliations for several cash accounts, verifying that the balances correspond to the general ledger.

• Complete additional month-end account reconciliations, such as those for Miscellaneous Receivables.

• Collaborate with internal staff, including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Operations, to confirm all transactions are properly and promptly recorded.

• Support the accounting team by assisting with internal and external audit requests as needed.

• Take on ad-hoc projects according to departmental requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance is required.

• Preferred candidates will have one to two or more years of accounting experience.

• Demonstrated understanding of the month-end close process as well as balance sheet reconciliations.

• Advanced skills in spreadsheet applications combined with strong analytical abilities.

• Ability to work effectively within a team, showing initiative, a positive attitude, and a strong work ethic.

• Organized, self-motivated, and attentive to detail, with a focus on meeting deadlines.

• Working knowledge of the finance industry is preferred.
