    Position summary

    ty, can quickly understand business needs, and is motivated to deliver efficient, fit-for-purpose solutions-ranging from lightweight bespoke applications built in hours, to more traditional SQL-driven data engineering assignments. Strong communication and teamwork are essential as you will collaborate closely with business analysts, the Data & Analytics team, and project managers.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Develop and maintain SQL-based data ingestion, transformation, and optimization processes for the enterprise data warehouse.

    • Build, enhance, and support a high volume of lightweight, business-specific automation tools using Vibe coding and AI-assisted development practices.

    • Conduct data profiling, source-to-target mapping, and ETL/Python development.

    • Perform performance tuning, troubleshooting, and debugging across SQL, Python, and lightweight applications.

    • Provide both business and technical analysis for data-centric and automation-focused initiatives.

    • Contribute to data modeling, warehouse design discussions, and documentation.

    • Deliver solutions in a fast-paced, iterative environment, balancing speed with quality and reliability.

    Required Skills & Experience

    • 3+ years developing solutions centered on data integration, SQL, and Python.

    • Advanced SQL proficiency and demonstrated experience with SQL-based databases (Snowflake a plus).

    • Strong Python skills, including automation and data ingestion patterns.

    • Experience using AI-powered development tools (e.g., Copilot) to accelerate creation of bespoke applications.

    • Familiarity with scripting (PowerShell, etc.) and integration methods (flat files, APIs/web services).

    • Understanding of data modeling concepts (ER diagrams, normalization) and data warehousing concepts (star schema, dimensional modeling).

    • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to analyze business context to design optimal solutions.

    • Experience writing clear technical documentation.

    • Comfortable delivering high-impact work in a fast-moving environment.

    Compensation

    The listed annualized base pay range is primarily based on analysis of similar positions in the external market. Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to performance, proficiency and demonstration of competencies required for the role. The base pay is just one component of The Hartford's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term or annual bonuses, long-term incentives, and on-the-spot recognition. The annualized base pay range for this role is:
    $85,000 - $110,000
