    Position summary

    ces. Ability to effectively follow Source code management, code quality and testing practices. Active listening, team work and collaboration. Customer focus, relationship building, communication.

    This role will have a Hybrid work schedule, with the expectation of working in an office (Hartford, CT or Charlotte, NC) 3 days a week (Tuesday through Thursday).

    Responsibilities:

    • Assist in the design, development, and maintenance of scalable software applications using AWS (including ECS, S3, ALB, and AWS SDKs), Java, REST, Postgres, SQL, JSON, XML, Spring Boot, and Hibernate.

    • Support the implementation and management of DevOps practices to streamline development and deployment processes.

    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features.

    • Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code under the guidance of senior engineers.

    • Troubleshoot, debug, and upgrade existing systems.

    • Ensure the performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications.

    • Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to peers.

    • Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and industry trends.

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

    • Some experience or internships as a Associate Software Engineer or similar role.

    • Basic proficiency in AWS (including ECS, S3, ALB, and AWS SDKs), Java, REST, Postgres, SQL, JSON, XML, Spring Boot, and Hibernate.

    • Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools.

    • Understanding of Cloud Formation and other infrastructure-as-code tools.

    • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

    • Strong communication and teamwork abilities.

    • Ability to work in a fast-paced and collaborative environment.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Experience with additional technologies and frameworks.

    • Knowledge of best practices in software development and DevOps.

    • Certification in AWS or other relevant technologies.

    Candidate must be authorized to work in the US without company sponsorship. The company will not support the STEM OPT I-983 Training Plan endorsement for this position.

    Compensation

    The listed annualized base pay range is primarily based on analysis of similar positions in the external market. Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to performance, proficiency and demonstration of competencies required for the role. The base pay is just one component of The Hartford's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term or annual bonuses, long-term incentives, and on-the-spot recognition. The annualized base pay range for this role is:

    $69,200 - $103,800
