    Position summary

    gy initiatives, build technology solutions, and a have a proven ability to manage critical technology processes.

    This leader will lead an organization of 35+ employees and 35+ vendor resources, while also providing leadership to business and engineering team members through partnership and mentoring.

    This role will have a Hybrid work arrangement, with the expectation of working in Hartford, CT 3 days a week (Tuesday through Thursday). Must be authorized to work in the US without company sponsorship.

    Responsibilities:

    • Strategy Definition and Execution: Collaborate with business functional leaders to define and refine their respective roadmaps, execute on the roadmap through Invest initiatives, and ensure that the business outcomes are achieved through technology

    • Technology Modernization: Transform the existing technology landscape through cloud modernization as well as instilling engineering practices within the team

    • Trusted advisor for the business: Partner with the various areas of the business and help in building capabilities

    • Manage critical applications and ensure the core SLAs are met or exceeded through process excellence

    • Own critical technology processes across a varied set of functions like Law, HR, Enterprise Risk, Marketing, etc.

    • Innovation Champion: Partner with business to identify and implement innovative capabilities like GenAI

    • Partner closely with other IT functions like Transformation, Infrastructure, Security, Data, etc. to build and deliver solutions

    • Improve the organization's focus on DevOps, engineering processes, and agile processes in order to drive technology effectiveness within the team

    • Work with various vendors (sourcing as well as software vendors), drive to business outcome, negotiate complex contracts, and ensure the right level of partnership across the teams

    • Make strategic buy vs. build decisions based on business and technology needs

    • Be an inclusive leader, leading by example

    Qualifications:

    • 12+ years of IT leadership experience, with a focus on managing corporate technology functions

    • Strong foundation in technology, including significant experience in large transformational programs for corporate business functions.

    • Experience with implementing technology solutions on cloud (like AWS) as well as implementing integrated technology solutions across SaaS and in-house applications

    • Proven track record as a results-oriented IT leader who collaborates effectively with business leaders and manages business outcomes.

    • Experience managing critical technology processes like finance close, integrations with banks/financial institutions, etc.

    • Solid background in technology and familiarity with all aspects of the software development life cycle.

    • Experience with solving business processes through GenAI and driving GenAI adoption with the teams

    • Strong understanding of business strategy and the ability to align technology roadmaps with business goals.

    • Excellent people leadership abilities, including coaching, development, and mentoring.

    • Ability to work successfully across all levels of the organization, including senior management.

    • Experience managing complex vendor relationships and working with an offshore delivery model.

    • Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills, with meticulous attention to detail.

    Compensation

    The listed annualized base pay range is primarily based on analysis of similar positions in the external market. Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to performance, proficiency and demonstration of competencies required for the role. The base pay is just one component of The Hartford's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term or annual bonuses, long-term incentives, and on-the-spot recognition. The annualized base pay range for this role is:

    $180,000 - $270,000
