    Role Overview:

    As a Senior Security Specialist, you will lead efforts in IAM strategy, automation, and cloud integration. You will bring deep technical expertise in IAM systems, scripting for automation, and cloud-native IAM services in AWS and GCP. You will also contribute to planning and process improvement initiatives across the IAM and broader security landscape.

    This role will have a Hybrid work schedule, with the expectation of working in an office (Columbus, OH, Chicago, IL, Hartford, CT or Charlotte, NC) 3 days a week (Tuesday through Thursday).

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Serve as the technical expert for IAM management in AWS and GCP environments.

    • Design and implement automated IAM solutions using scripting languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell).

    • Develop and maintain IAM policies, roles, and permissions across cloud platforms.

    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align IAM automation with business and security objectives.

    • Evaluate and integrate emerging IAM technologies to enhance security posture.

    • Ensure compliance with regulatory and industry standards related to IAM.

    • Troubleshoot and resolve IAM-related issues in a timely and efficient manner.

    • Document IAM processes, automation scripts, and architectural decisions.

    • Deploy IAM, security, and compliance services with a focus on automation and scalability.

    • Partner with engineers, program managers, and operations leaders to deliver secure and efficient IAM solutions.

    • Advocate for secure development practices and mentor developers on IAM automation techniques.

    • Maintain clear documentation and reporting to support transparency and issue resolution.

    • Engage with stakeholders to capture IAM requirements and translate them into automated solutions.

    • Promote a culture of continuous learning and innovation in IAM and cloud security.

    Qualifications:

    • 3+ years of direct experience in IAM policy management.

    • 2+ years of hands-on AWS IAM policy design and evaluation.

    • 1+ years of technical IAM engineering experience in GCP.

    • Proficiency in scripting languages for IAM automation (e.g., Python, PowerShell).

    • Experience with Terraform IAC preferred

    • AWS Certification preferred.

    Candidate must be authorized to work in the US without company sponsorship. The company will not support the STEM OPT I-983 Training Plan endorsement for this position.

    Compensation

    The listed annualized base pay range is primarily based on analysis of similar positions in the external market. Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to performance, proficiency and demonstration of competencies required for the role. The base pay is just one component of The Hartford's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term or annual bonuses, long-term incentives, and on-the-spot recognition. The annualized base pay range for this role is:

    $116,400 - $174,600
