    Position summary

    iance Director to maintain The Hartford's sanctions compliance program.

    • Research and resolve sanctions issues and sanctions alerts from the automated screening tool.

    • Utilize the automated screening tool to assess regular, periodic and ad hoc requests.

    • Research domestic and international economic sanctions matters to respond to inquiries.

    • Support the Sanctions Compliance team with referrals from underwriters and claims personnel for potential sanctions issues.

    • Support the work in monitoring the regulatory environment, including drafting and distributing bulletins.

    • Support the dissemination of sanctions regulatory changes to staff.

    • Support the development of sanctions training to staff.

    • File necessary reports with regulatory agencies and block assets when applicable.

    • Support current Strategic Supplier and Real Estate compliance work as assigned.

    Qualifications

    • Experienced compliance professional with a minimum of 3 years of experience in domestic and international economic sanctions or knowledge of Hartford business areas

    • Practical knowledge of sanctions laws applicable to the U.S., U.K., and European Union, among others highly desired

    • Experience using automated sanctions scanning applications and clearing alerts.

    • Commercial insurance experience, specifically in international and ocean marine, is preferred.

    • Good organizational, communication oral and written, investigative and administrative ability.

    • Able to function independently and as part of a team.

    • Ability to collaborate with stakeholders in all divisions.

    Compensation

    The listed annualized base pay range is primarily based on analysis of similar positions in the external market. Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to performance, proficiency and demonstration of competencies required for the role. The base pay is just one component of The Hartford's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term or annual bonuses, long-term incentives, and on-the-spot recognition. The annualized base pay range for this role is:

    $72,240 - $108,360
