    Position summary

    This role will have a Hybrid work schedule, with the expectation of working in an office location (Hartford, CT) 3 days a week (Tuesday through Thursday).

    What You'll Do

    • Oversee the technical aspects of migrating 400+ apps and shared platforms to AWS cloud.

    • Provide Tech ownership for the end-to-end flow / process for app modernization to cloud across multiple Lines of Businesses (LOB) and Non-LOB shared platforms.

    • Own overall plan for upstream/downstream platform integrations and pattern dependencies to enable LOB applications, and sequence as well as prioritize cross-dependencies to optimize modernization efficiency.

    • Conduct Application Modernization Engineering meetings to ensure execution and engineering clarity across architects, engineers, developers, and security teams.

    • Drive strategic direction leveraging GenAI tools to accelerate Application Modernization; orchestrate reference pattern implementation for complex applications and influence adoption across multiple lines of business.

    • Partner strongly with Cloud architecture and Cloud services teams to shape application patterns and cloud products service delivery on AWS.

    • Inform, advise, and collaborate with senior leadership regarding ongoing alignment of program to business and technology strategy.

    • Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and meet strategic goals.

    What We're Looking For

    • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

    • 5+ years of extensive experience in cloud transformation programs to AWS and large-scale application modernization initiatives.

    • AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Professional or equivalent certifications.

    • 10+ years combined Software Engineering experience in Strong Engineering and Execution

    • Experience with containerization (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) and serverless architectures.

    • Strong full-stack application development background with proven experience in modernizing legacy applications.

    • Familiarity with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines in cloud environments.

    • Ability to drive innovation and adoption of cloud-native solutions.

    • Proven track record of leading cross-functional teams and delivering enterprise-grade solutions.

    • Excellent communication with stakeholders and senior leadership.

    Compensation

    The listed annualized base pay range is primarily based on analysis of similar positions in the external market. Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to performance, proficiency and demonstration of competencies required for the role. The base pay is just one component of The Hartford's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term or annual bonuses, long-term incentives, and on-the-spot recognition. The annualized base pay range for this role is:

    $152,000 - $228,000
