    Position summary

    he Hartford, CT office, 3 days a week (Tuesday through Thursday). Remote work arrangement is an option for HIG employees that are currently remote.

    Key responsibilities include:

    • Develop multi-year premium projections for Outlook and Budget
    • Collaborate with Actuarial, Sales, Underwriting, and Product to gather necessary information for accurate forecasting
    • Develop cost drivers (cases, lives, etc.) based on premium forecast for use in staffing models for Claims, Operations, and other areas
    • Model commission expense projections using updated premium outlook and current commission rate assumptions
    • Analyze financial data and trends to provide insights and recommendations
      • Financial reporting of Outlook to various areas of Employee Benefits

      • Responsible for TM1 maintenance

      • Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance forecasting processes and accuracy

      • Develop strong working relationships throughout Employee Benefits and the Finance organization

    Qualifications

    • 5+ years of finance experience

    • Candidate must be highly motivated, detail-oriented, inquisitive, and performance driven.

    • Strong critical thinking ability and quantitative analytic skills

    • Strong Excel skills and Powerpoint skills; TM1 experience a plus

    • Experience with Power BI is a plus

    • Ability to learn quickly and assimilate new applications

    • Familiarity with insurance accounting and reporting, including knowledge of GAAP concepts

    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

    • An undergraduate degree in finance, accounting, or related field is preferred. CPA or MBA is a plus.

    Compensation

    The listed annualized base pay range is primarily based on analysis of similar positions in the external market. Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to performance, proficiency and demonstration of competencies required for the role. The base pay is just one component of The Hartford's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term or annual bonuses, long-term incentives, and on-the-spot recognition. The annualized base pay range for this role is:

    $100,800 - $151,200
