    Position summary

    This successful candidate will execute a roadmap for delivering analytical capabilities, as well as prioritization and coordination of the team backlog. Other responsibilities include designing and delivering end-to-end BI solutions, managing a team of junior BI Consultants, and ensuring adherence to delivery best practices.

    Responsibilities

    • Partner with key stakeholders & business leaders to build a data & analytical capabilities roadmap that meets current business challenges and unlocks new opportunities.

    • Lead a small Business Intelligence team through the development and lifecycle management of BI tools and assets, delivering innovative and high-quality solutions that enable data-driven decision-making across the organization.

    • Lead resolution of complex data or analytical issues across the team, ensuring timely escalation and data integrity, while supporting junior team members in troubleshooting.

    • Facilitate and drive cross-functional collaboration with stakeholders, product owner, and development team to design, develop, deploy, and support AI & visual analytic tools

    • Partner with IT, data, and other BI organizations as a thought leader to elevate enterprise-wide data and analytics capabilities.

    • Guide and empower team members through direct leadership, offering career coaching, development support, and clear direction to drive performance and growth

    • Champion adherence to design and delivery standards, reinforcing best practices across the team.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent professional experience

    • Expert proficiency with multiple querying languages and database management systems.

    • Expertise in data visualization tools and delivering GenAI solutions within BI tools. (Tableau, ThoughtSpot, Power BI)

    • Expertise in statistical analysis and with statistical software to identify trends and patterns within datasets.

    • Exceptional analytical, problem-solving and critical thinking skills to address intricate business challenges.

    • Outstanding communication skills to present data insights and recommendations to senior leadership.

    • Exceptional precision in validating & interpreting complex datasets, ensuring data accuracy, integrity, and reasonability within the business context.

    • Demonstrated ability to support strategic initiatives by conducting in-depth analyses, identifying growth opportunities, and aligning insights with team and organizational priorities.

    • Proven leadership skills to mentor and guide teams and drive cross-functional collaboration.

    • Proactively stays current with emerging technologies, platforms, and methodologies. Identifies and recommends opportunities to integrate innovative tools across the team.

    • Prior experience leading and managing teams is a plus

    • P+C Insurance experience is a plus

    This role will have a Hybrid work schedule, with the expectation of working in an office (Columbus, OH, Chicago, IL, Hartford, CT or Charlotte, NC) 3 days a week (Tuesday through Thursday).

    Candidates must be authorized to work in the US without company sponsorship. The company will not support the STEM OPT I-983 Training Plan endorsement for this position.

    Compensation

    The listed annualized base pay range is primarily based on analysis of similar positions in the external market. Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to performance, proficiency and demonstration of competencies required for the role. The base pay is just one component of The Hartford's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term or annual bonuses, long-term incentives, and on-the-spot recognition. The annualized base pay range for this role is:
    $114,400 - $171,600
