    Position summary

    d is ready to take ownership of complex systems, team development, and contribute to strategic platform evolution.

    This role will have a Hybrid work schedule, with the expectation of working in an office (Columbus, OH, Chicago, IL, Hartford, CT or Charlotte, NC) 3 days a week (Tuesday through Thursday).

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Lead the engineering and delivery of cloud-native IDP solutions using AWS and third-party platforms.

    • Manage a team of engineers and collaborate with data scientists, architects, and business stakeholders to align IDP capabilities with enterprise goals.

    • Oversee the development and optimization of automated workflows for document ingestion, classification, extraction, and validation.

    • Drive performance tuning, cost optimization, and infrastructure resilience across the IDP platform.

    • Implement monitoring, alerting, and fault-tolerant mechanisms to ensure platform reliability.

    • Own technical documentation, including architecture diagrams, deployment guides, and operational runbooks.

    • Evaluate emerging technologies and contribute to platform roadmap and strategic planning.

    • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and accountability within the team.

    Required Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

    • 10+ years of experience in cloud engineering, with at least 2 years in a technical leadership or management role.

    • Experience with AWS services experience (e.g., Lambda, S3, Step Functions, ECS, IAM).

    • Experience with .NET and Python, with experience building scalable backend services.

    • Experience with Intelligent Document Processing (IDP), OCR, NLP, and machine learning technologies in production environments.

    • Experience with GenAI-powered Intelligent Document Processing (IDP) platforms (e.g., MEA).

    • Experience in the insurance sector, with a history of implementing process automation and augmentation through GenAI technologies.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Proficiency with containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes).

    • Proven ability to lead teams, troubleshoot complex systems, and implement resilient cloud architectures.

    • Excellent communication, mentoring, and stakeholder management skills.

    • AWS certifications (e.g., Solutions Architect, Developer, SysOps).

    • Familiarity with insurance-specific document formats (e.g., SOVs, financial statements).

    • Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure-as-code tools (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation).

    • Experience with .NET 8

    • Familiarity with Power Automate, Tableau, SQL Server, and PostgreSQL

    Candidate must be authorized to work in the US without company sponsorship. The company will not support the STEM OPT I-983 Training Plan endorsement for this position.

    Compensation

    The listed annualized base pay range is primarily based on analysis of similar positions in the external market. Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to performance, proficiency and demonstration of competencies required for the role. The base pay is just one component of The Hartford's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term or annual bonuses, long-term incentives, and on-the-spot recognition. The annualized base pay range for this role is:

    $136,800 - $205,200
