    Position summary

    livery team. Develop partnerships with all key stakeholders involved in solution delivery and acceptance. Present transparency about potential risks and business impact to all stake holders. Accountable for end to end delivery. Provides significant input to influence application solution architecture. Collaborate with business and IT partners to proactively mitigate existing technical debt. Complement and or substitute for most of the duties performed at a Senior staff software engineer level. Perform hiring, mentoring and growing the team of software engineers. Guide and support professional development of team members. Drive adaption of software engineering culture. Strong foundational knowledge of technical skills and expertise with software engineering skills including OOP, C#, .NET core, SQL, REST, MVC, Micro Services Architecture as well as CI/CD practices. Technical expertise to tackle hands-on tasks or deliberate with the team on estimate, design, peer review, build and test activities. 7 or more years of experience in application software solution development. Act with integrity and lead by example with servant leader mindset. Empathy to understand and support team members. Creative, open-minded, innovative and collaborative. Work across organizational boundaries. Problem solving, analytical, critical thinking and decision making skills.     Responsibilities

    • Lead, manage and develop the application development team.

    • Develop and maintain a solid working knowledge of the investment industry and business processes.

    • Work closely with business partners, managers, and product owners to deliver on business needs.

    • Ensure application availability while continuously improving quality of service delivery and support.

    • Serves as a key business/technical expert for business partners leveraging current and emerging technologies where appropriate.

    • Engages in highly complex business initiatives requiring design or integration of technical solutions across the business.

    • Anticipates and resolves problems systematically. Provides assistance and guidance to peers and subordinates.

    • Collaborate across other technology and infrastructure teams to provide quality solutions.

    • Participates in planning sessions for highly complex or critical business/technical issues.

    • Provides recommendations on business and systems options, risks, cost/benefit analysis, and impact on cross-functional business goals and processes.

    • Anticipates customer needs and ensures that those needs are fully met through collaboration with the business areas.

    • Develops staff through ongoing coaching and feedback, rewarding results, providing meaningful development plans, and invoking progressive discipline process when necessary.

    • Handles recruiting activities for staffing vacancies, hires and terminates staff. Handles compensation process according to departmental guidelines and objectives.

    • Financial management responsibility for Enterprise Content Management products and services.

    • Responsible for the overall deliverables of the team. Ensures direct reports deliver work product with quality and service levels needed to meet business needs and ensure customer satisfaction.

    • Prioritizes and assigns work for team members. Ensures team members are appropriately trained and mentored to accomplish assigned work and leverage growth opportunities.

    • Proven leadership, team development and influencing capabilities.

    • Candidate must possess strong communication, collaboration, and negotiation skills.

    • Financial management responsibilities and experience.

    • Creative and Innovative thinker that demonstrates personal initiative to deliver results.

    • Ability to constructively partner with all levels of business leaders and stakeholders to meet business/customer needs while effectively prioritizing work and aligning people to deliver required outcomes.

    • Bachelor's degree strongly preferred.

    This role will have a Hybrid work arrangement, with the expectation of working in an office 3 days a week (Tuesday through Thursday).

    Compensation

    The listed annualized base pay range is primarily based on analysis of similar positions in the external market. Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to performance, proficiency and demonstration of competencies required for the role. The base pay is just one component of The Hartford's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term or annual bonuses, long-term incentives, and on-the-spot recognition. The annualized base pay range for this role is:

    $129,120 - $193,680
