This successful candidate will execute on a wide array of reporting, deep-dive analytics, diagnostics, and root cause problem solving to help drive the Performance Analytics roadmap forward. Other responsibilities may include collaboratively executing on bodies of work with other organizations such as Data Science and Engineering, Business Intelligence, Asset Ownership, Actuarial, Finance, Information Technology, and other project-related organizations.
This role will have a Hybrid work schedule, with the expectation of working in an office (Hartford, CT , Columbus, OH, Chicago, IL or Charlotte, NC) 3 days a week (Tuesday through Thursday).

Demonstrates strong SQL skills and confidence in independently sourcing and transforming data
Demonstrates a working knowledge of Python

Has experience with visualization and reporting tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau)
Understands or can quickly learn financial and operational performance drivers in specialty insurance
Translates data into clear, compelling stories tailored to both technical and executive audiences
Asks thoughtful questions, builds strong cross - functional partnerships, and contributes to elevating analytics maturity
Is open and curious to learn new analytical and technological skills, including, but not limited to, additional coding language and Agentic AI-related platforms
Responsibilities
Combine and reconcile data from multiple sources, developing a strong understanding of Middle and Large data assets, lineage, and quality considerations.
Build trusted working relationships with Underwriting, Product, Actuarial, Claims, and Finance through reliable analysis, open communication, and consistent delivery
Respond to ad - hoc analytical requests, providing clarity on definitions, methods, and drivers; offer guidance on KPI interpretation and visualization best practices
Maintain strong, clear documentation of work - effort progress and analysis activities
Adhere to and promote strong agile practices
Qualifications
Working Proficiency in SQL, with experience in Snowflake and Oracle
Working knowledge of Python for analytical and automation tasks
Knowledge of Data Warehousing/Relational Databases
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Self - motivated; can work independently and in teams
Bachelor's degree required, preferably in Data Analytics, Statistics, Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Business, or a related quantitative field
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with visualization tools such as Power BI / Tableau, development experience
Knowledge of Generative and Agentic AI solutions
Familiarity with Agile practices

Compensation
The listed annualized base pay range is primarily based on analysis of similar positions in the external market. Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to performance, proficiency and demonstration of competencies required for the role. The base pay is just one component of The Hartford's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term or annual bonuses, long-term incentives, and on-the-spot recognition. The annualized base pay range for this role is:
