    Position summary

    development as a full stack software engineer.

    • Participate in a rotational on-call schedule, providing 24x7 support for urgent issues and serving as the API Subject Matter Expert (SME).

    • Implement best practices for API development, including security, scalability, governance, and performance.

    • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to other engineers.

    Required Skills and Experience:

    • Extensive experience in API development and platform management.

    • Strong understanding of DevOps principles and practices.

    • Proven ability to build tools and enablers for engineering teams.

    • Demonstrate a passion for coding, automation, and developer experience.

    • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a collaborative environment.

    • Strong communication skills and the ability to articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Experience with cloud platforms and services.

    • Knowledge of API best practices.

    • Insurance industry, Financial Services Industry experience is helpful.

    • Relevant certifications.

    This role can have a Hybrid or Remote work schedule. Candidates who live near one of our office locations (Hartford, CT, Charlotte, NC, Chicago, IL, Columbus, OH) will have the expectation of working in an office 3 days a week (Tuesday through Thursday) Candidates who do not live near an office will have a remote work schedule, with the expectation of coming into an office as business needs arise.

    Candidate must be authorized to work in the US without company sponsorship. The company will not support the STEM OPT I-983 Training Plan endorsement for this position.

    Compensation

    The listed annualized base pay range is primarily based on analysis of similar positions in the external market. Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to performance, proficiency and demonstration of competencies required for the role. The base pay is just one component of The Hartford's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term or annual bonuses, long-term incentives, and on-the-spot recognition. The annualized base pay range for this role is:

    $126,160 - $189,240
