    Position summary

    s with more complex functional areas. In addition, this position may be responsible for segment reporting and analysis, for one or more business segments. The incumbent will participate in activities and initiatives that support the operating plan development, expense outlook review and analysis, and process improvement execution, and may lead less complex initiatives.

    This role will have a Hybrid work arrangement, with the expectation of working in an office (Hartford, CT) 3 days a week (Tuesday through Thursday).

    Responsibilities include:

    • Ensure accurate, timely and relevant financial and management reporting (standard and ad hoc)

    • Drive financial transparency through analysis and reporting, financial models, and tracking KPIs

    • Take the lead in commentary for financial exhibits, including managed and allocated expenses

    • Provide financial stewardship and develop financial outlooks in partnership with Technology, Operations and/or Real Estate leaders

    • Depending on alignment with Technology, Operations, and/or Real Estate:

      • Perform analysis of IT Service Costing (IT Finance sub-ledger system) data to support and provide business partners with transparency and insightful analysis
      • Assist in maintaining data integrity, including capitalization support
    • Ensure reserves, paid corrections, and cost allocations are appropriate and supported

    • Participate in, and may lead, Special Projects including continuously improving financial processes and systems to enhance efficiency and/or effectiveness

    WHAT QUALIFICATIONS ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

    • Bachelor degree in Finance, Accounting or related field preferred

    • 2+ years related expense experience

    • Strong Excel skills, TM1 skills a plus

    • Self-starter, self-motivated and performance driven; ability to lead through influencing

    • Ability to quickly learn and assimilate new applications

    • Results oriented with the ability to effectively manage competing priorities

    • Critical thinker with proven critical thinking skills

    • Analytical capabilities

    • Excellent oral and written communication skills

    • Familiarity with insurance accounting and reporting concepts/theories, including knowledge of GAAP concepts/theories a plus

    • Ability to develop effective working relationships with business partners, and other expense partners

    Compensation

    The listed annualized base pay range is primarily based on analysis of similar positions in the external market. Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to performance, proficiency and demonstration of competencies required for the role. The base pay is just one component of The Hartford's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term or annual bonuses, long-term incentives, and on-the-spot recognition. The annualized base pay range for this role is:

    $81,600 - $122,400
