    Position summary

    ce (Columbus, OH, Chicago, IL, Hartford, CT or Charlotte, NC) 3 days a week (Tuesday through Thursday).

    Responsibilities

    • Design, deploy, and maintain Enterprise Storage and Backup Solutions that support the entirety of The Hartford's hybrid environment

    • Participate in the development and technical deployment of cyber, disaster recovery, operational recovery capabilities to support application teams and enterprise initiatives

    • Support the migration of Enterprise Storage and Backup Solutions to various private and public cloud offerings in support of a large-scale data center transformation effort

    • Engineer capabilities across various platforms and products including NetApp, AWS FSx, AWS Backup, and more

    • Assists in the development and maintenance of IT services as it relates to backup and recovery

    • Partner with IT architects to ensure that modified IT service interacts appropriately, data conversion impacts are considered, and other areas of impact are addressed and meet performance requirements of the service/project

    • Participate in all aspects of service ownership including architecture, design, migration, deployment, runtime support, audit activities, and financial stewardship

    • Collaborate and consult with other IT teams to ensure seamless integration of storage and backup systems by supporting new requirements, design challenges, and functionality configurations

    • Provide operational and technical support to end-users with an emphasis on stability and operational excellence

    Qualifications

    • Proven experience in designing, engineering, and supporting large scale Storage (NAS) NetApp/FSx file systems

    • Strong knowledge of storage protocols including NFS, CIFS

    • Experience with Cloud Storage Solutions including AWS FSx, FSxN is preferred

    • Basic Unix server administration, scripting, network and firewall concepts is required

    • Working knowledge of modern DevOps infrastructure deployment concepts through CI/CD pipelines

    • Experience using toolsets such as GitHub, Ansible, and Terraform are required

    • Experience with creating technical documentation and infrastructure diagrams

    • Familiarity with data protection, disaster recovery and cyber recovery is preferred

    • Self-motivated and results-oriented with the ability to work in a team environment and independently

    • Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to adjust to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment

    • Strategic thinking skills. Ability to provide options and assess solutions, looking at the business holistically

    • Understanding of current and emerging IT products, services, processes, and methodologies

    • Knowledge of IAM, leveraging Splunk for troubleshooting, and alerting is a bonus

    Candidate must be authorized to work in the US without company sponsorship. The company will not support the STEM OPT I-983 Training Plan endorsement for this position.

    Compensation

    The listed annualized base pay range is primarily based on analysis of similar positions in the external market. Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to performance, proficiency and demonstration of competencies required for the role. The base pay is just one component of The Hartford's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term or annual bonuses, long-term incentives, and on-the-spot recognition. The annualized base pay range for this role is:

    $115,760 - $173,640
