    Position summary

    well as setting and executing on a strategic technical vision to ensure the systems are stable, performant, and secure.

    Responsibilities / Job Description:

    • Hands-on experience with Java and J2EE technologies, such as Java Web Services, JMS, JSP, XML, JSON, JDBC etc.

    • Experience with Web Services (SOAP and REST).

    • Writing and using scalable and secure APIs.

    • Experience with Angular and Micro Frontend (MFE) architecture

    • Strong experience in PL/SQL development and relational databases such as Oracle or Postgres.

    • REST API design and development using Java Spring Boot.

    • Use DevOps and CI/CD tools. Develop Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools like CloudFormation or Terraform to automate build and release processes.

    • Understanding of Batch and MQ systems.

    Minimum Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Math, or any Engineering discipline.

    • Awareness of full software development life cycle practices and the ability to follow source code management, code quality and testing practices.

    • 5+ years of hands-on experience in application software solution development and execution.

    • 5+ years of hands-on experience with Java and J2EE technologies, including Web Services (SOAP and REST), Spring Boot, and PL/SQL.

    • 3+ years of systems design experience along with continuous integration and DevOps methodologies.

    • Experience using GitHub, Jenkins, Docker, uDeploy, Rally, Checkmarx, etc.

    • Infrastructure as Code experience using CloudFormation or Terraform.

    • Familiar with Agile methodology and experience working in an Agile or SAFe development environment.

    • Proven ability to work with cross-functional teams.

    • Possess analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. Ability to communicate at all levels within an organization and influence leadership.

    This role will have a Hybrid work schedule, with the expectation of working in an office (Hartford, CT or Charlotte, NC) 3 days a week (Tuesday through Thursday).

    Candidates must be authorized to work in the US without company sponsorship. The company will not support the STEM OPT I-983 Training Plan endorsement for this position.

    Compensation

    The listed annualized base pay range is primarily based on analysis of similar positions in the external market. Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to performance, proficiency and demonstration of competencies required for the role. The base pay is just one component of The Hartford's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term or annual bonuses, long-term incentives, and on-the-spot recognition. The annualized base pay range for this role is:

    $87,200 - $144,000

    The posted salary range reflects our ability to hire at different position titles and levels depending on background and experience.
