    Position summary

    Responsibilities:

    • Work closely with BA's, development team, QA, and design leads using Agile methodology..

    • Research and evaluate solutions, and recommend/develop/test the most efficient and cost-effective solution to meet business requirements that conforms to The Hartford's coding standards.

    • Help create verification methods and procedures and participate in systems testing.

    • Debug and troubleshoot defects.

    • Develop technical documentation for various project deliverables and phases.

    Requirements:

    • 4+ years of experience in Java and J2EE technologies, including Java Web Services, XML, JSON, JDBC.

    • 1+ years demonstrating leadership in software development and architecture design.

    • Demonstrated experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS) for building, deploying, and migrating applications to the cloud.

    • Proficiency in API development and Web Services (SOAP and REST) using Java Spring Boot.

    • Front-end development skills with Angular or React.

    • Knowledge of DevSecOps and CI/CD toolchains (GitHub, Jenkins, Docker, uDeploy, Rally, Checkmarx).

    • Strong scripting and batch processing experience with Unix, shell scripting, pro*C, SQL loader, SQL scripts, Perl script, and Java Spring Boot batches.

    • Ability to design scalable and secure software architecture patterns, adhering to industry standards.

    • AWS certification preferred

    • Computer Science undergraduate degree with co-op, internship or early career experience.

    Candidate must be authorized to work in the US without company sponsorship. The company will not support the STEM OPT I-983 Training Plan endorsement for this position.

    Compensation

    The listed annualized base pay range is primarily based on analysis of similar positions in the external market. Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to performance, proficiency and demonstration of competencies required for the role. The base pay is just one component of The Hartford's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term or annual bonuses, long-term incentives, and on-the-spot recognition. The annualized base pay range for this role is:

    $87,200 - $130,800
