    Position summary

    Responsibilities:

    Hands-On Development and Code Quality:

    Involve in design and development of GenAI-powered applications, creating POCs and prototypes to validate ideas and accelerate delivery.

    Drive significant usage of GenAI tools to consistently ship products, improve software delivery speed, and enhance coding practices.

    Write clean, maintainable code and perform code reviews to ensure quality and strong test coverage.

    Mentorship

    Actively share knowledge and collaborate with peers on GenAI techniques, modern engineering practices, and agile methodologies.

    Innovation:

    Experiment with cutting-edge GenAI technologies to create new capabilities and improve operational workflows.

    Contribute ideas for innovation and process improvements that enhance business impact.

    Qualifications:
    3 + years of software engineering experience as an individual contributor
    Proficiency in Java, API development, and database technologies, with additional experience in Python as a plus Familiarity with GenAI tools and eagerness to learn and apply them in development
    Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with peers and stak e holders
    Passion for continuous learning and expand technical capabilities to support business growth

    Technical Skills :

    Programming: Java, Python , API integration , Angular or React

    Database: SQL, NoSQL (PostgreSQL, MongoDB), Cloud Databases: AWS RDS, DynamoDB, Aurora, BigQuery

    GenAI Tools: GitHub Copilot, Vertex AI

    Cloud Platforms: AWS or GCP

    This role will have a Hybrid work schedule, with the expectation of working in an office 3 days a week

    Candidates must be authorized to work in the US without company sponsorship. The company will not support the STEM OPT I-983 Training Plan endorsement for this position.

    Compensation

    The listed annualized base pay range is primarily based on analysis of similar positions in the external market. Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to performance, proficiency and demonstration of competencies required for the role. The base pay is just one component of The Hartford's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term or annual bonuses, long-term incentives, and on-the-spot recognition. The annualized base pay range for this role is:
    $88,000 - $132,000
