    Position summary

    -performing individual contributor who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and is enthusiastic about delivering high-value, and compliant product enhancements. This position is primarily responsible for the compliant implementation of our Employee Benefits insurance policies and ancillary forms in various automated and manual systems.

    Responsibilities:
    General

    • Review filed and approved forms, interpret variability and identify state specific changes.
    • Design, develop and maintain Issue Requirements (IR's) for Core, Specialty, and Supp Health products.
    • Create and maintain our ancillary form templates (Master Application, Enrollment Form, Personal Health Application (PHA), Guaranty Notices, ERISA, State Notices)
    • Provide timely contract research and consultation to our business partners regarding questions on booklet output and the Issue Requirements
    • Participate in internal compliance audits, market conduct exams and other audits, providing details on implementation requirements and compliance feedback.
    • Supports new product launches, compliance initiatives (Corrective Action Plans (CAP), Reg-Alerts) and Maintenance requests to process system corrections and updates.
    • Refining User Stories, including determining user story acceptance criteria.
    • High level of interaction with other areas (Product, Legal, Compliance, General Case Drafting, and IT)
    • Monitor commitments to meet target implementation dates and raise awareness if the release is in jeopardy.

    Project Specific
    • Champion the Voice of the Customer (VOC) in all initiatives
    • Acts as a subject matter expert (SME) on assigned projects.
    • Clearly articulate directions to the development team ensuring the team understands the items in the backlog and their business value.
    • Identify and escalating risks, issues, impediments, resource constraints and sources of conflict to APO and Scrum Master
    • Create test conditions and accept completed user stories by validating that the outcome meets the product vision.
    • Identify change management and business readiness requirements.

    Process Optimization & Continuous Improvement
    • Document current and future state processes, identify gaps and opportunities.
    • Translate business needs into actionable process enhancements.
    • Develop and execute continuous improvement plans and root cause analysis.

    Qualification:
    • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience preferred.
    • 2 years of Employee Benefits business experience in operations, claims, product, or underwriting.
    • Intellectually curious and have an ardent desire to further one's knowledge of both the current state and forward-looking Employee

    • Business acumen in Group Benefits products, knowable about the business, end users and customers
    • Strong influencing skills and a collaborative partnership approach is required.
    • Experience as an effective analytical person and/or decision-maker
    • Strong collaboration skills, including the ability to manage multiple projects and the ability to identify intersections and project dependencies.
    • Demonstratable experience translating business objectives into tangible plans, actions, and results.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to understand audiences, tailor message and influence outcomes.
    • Experience with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and MS Teams
    • Case Management and Publishing systems experience a plus
    • Experience with Agile methodologies a plus
    • Basic understanding of IT infrastructure and the system development flow
    • Effective working in a matrix environment

    Salary - $68,000 - $123,000

    This role can have a Hybrid or Remote work schedule. Candidates who live near one of our office locations will have the expectation of working in an office 3 days a week (Tuesday through Thursday). Candidates who do not live near an office will have a remote work schedule, with the expectation of coming into an office as business needs arise.

    Compensation

    The listed annualized base pay range is primarily based on analysis of similar positions in the external market. Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to performance, proficiency and demonstration of competencies required for the role. The base pay is just one component of The Hartford's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term or annual bonuses, long-term incentives, and on-the-spot recognition. The annualized base pay range for this role is:

    $68,000 - $123,000

    The posted salary range reflects our ability to hire at different position titles and levels depending on background and experience.
