Reporting to the Technician Supervisor, the person in this role will support the Performance Analysis and Evaluation Brake group's objective to safely and accurately collect and report data both statically and dynamically to support vehicle development for North American Customers.
What you'll be doing
Perform necessary mechanical work to prepare test vehicles for Brake evaluations.
Support evaluation planning, vehicle component retrofit, and vehicle evaluations.
Component modifications and mockups.
Collecting evaluation data using data acquisition equipment.
Confirm accuracy of data collected during evaluation process.
Strongly support Toyota Safety processes, kaizen, and 5S.
What you bring
Associate's degree or higher in automotive technology or similar degree; AND/OR commensurate experience.
Demonstrated relevant automotive work experience.
Professional experience working on cars and light trucks, completing basic diagnosis and repair of gasoline engines, Hybrid Systems, Suspension systems and tire & wheel service.
Professional experience with brake systems repair or brake system testing in a laboratory and/or proving ground environment.
Fabrication experience using machine shop equipment including welding and metal forming.
Beginner level knowledge using Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint with the ability to complete data analysis and make graphs for reporting data.
Willingness to travel both domestically and internationally up to 35% of the time.
Willingness to work overtime up to 10 hours per week or based on business needs.
Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds.
This position requires driving. A motor vehicle record that's acceptable by company standards is required for this position.
Added bonus if you have
