Reporting to the Manager, the person in this role will support the Production Engineering Department's objective to provide new model processes to the manufacturing facilities which meet all targets for Safety, Quality, Productivity, Cost. Production Engineering covers a broad range of areas including part fixturing + welding, primer + paint application, assembly and install of large vehicle parts.
What you'll be doing
Early Project Planning and Impact Analysis.
Assessing the impact of model changes on logistics areas, process equipment, and conveyor systems to establish technical change requirements.
Development of new technologies related to improving competitiveness within the production shops.
Leading equipment projects from concept to launch for new model projects, capital projects, refurbishments projects as well as plant competitiveness projects.
Close collaboration and relationship building with internal and external groups across Toyota including TMNA Production Engineering Project Leaders, NAMC's Pilot team, Logistics, Maintenance, PEPD, and others.
What you bring
Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Mechanical Engineering/Engineering Tech or associate degree in engineering Tech w/ 2+ years relevant work experience.
2+ years working in Production Engineering or an engineering role focusing on equipment development/procurement.
Ability to work weekends, holiday periods, and shutdowns to support tooling modifications and installations.
Self-starting individual with ability to stay task focused and meet or exceed set KPI's related to project requirements
Project experience in new model development related to capital equipment
Proficient in AutoCAD with a minimum of 2 yrs experience
Proficient in Inventor and/or Catia with a minimum of 2 yrs experience
MS Office proficient
Ability to travel up to 20% to all NAM's (North American Manufacturing sites) as well as Japan
Added bonus if you have
Master's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or advanced degree
Experience in 1 or more new model launch preparations
2+ years Construction Management experience
Experience in Simultaneous Engineering or vehicle design for new model launches
Project management experience
