    Toyota's Production Department is looking for a passionate and highly motivated Operations Leader.

    The primary responsibility of this role is to manage day-to-day production activities with a safety and quality mindset, while also developing a team of direct reports.

    Reporting to the Production Manager, the person in this role will support the Production department's objective to meet our daily KPI's and manage our production to ensure product delivery.

    What You'll Be Doing

    • Spend significant time on the production floor overseeing processes and developing team members' manufacturing capabilities and problem-solving methodologies

    • Provide leadership coaching and mentorship to all team members with a strong focus on people development

    • Establish and manage a visual floor management system

    • Meet production KPIs, create and visualize production status, drive measurable and continual improvements

    • Promote and exemplify a safety-first work culture

    • Maintain a high standard of professionalism, integrity, and respect in all interactions. Uphold company values and ensure that all team members do the same

    • Lead hiring and establishing the manufacturing team, including recruiting, interviewing, and onboarding

    • Potential for travel to Japan to acquire first-hand knowledge, technical know-how, and manufacturing best practices for implementing battery manufacturing plans

    • Ensure the manufacturing team gains and deploys this knowledge and has access to best practice resources

    What You Bring

    • Manufacturing technical expertise: degree or equivalent work experience demonstrating knowledge of manufacturing technical fundamentals

    • Experience in manufacturing or process industries, preferably with an engineering background

    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and data analytics experience required

    • Strong leadership skills with experience leading teams, coaching problem-solving, and driving continuous improvement

    • Experience in production manpower planning aligned with running production processes (e.g., attendance, absenteeism, overtime management)

    • Comfort with shop floor operations, ability to assess situations, and deploy resources to solve problems and abnormalities

    Added Bonus If You Have

    • Experience with equipment reliability and new equipment technology related to start-ups, major model changes, or product launches

    • Knowledge of battery, cell/module, or similar highly automated production environments

    • Knowledge or experience with Lean Manufacturing principles (Shop Organization, Visualization, Problem Solving)
