    Who we're looking for

    Toyota's Paint Department is looking for a passionate and highly motivated Paint Engineer.

    The primary responsibility of this role is to ensure vehicle and process integrity through systems development and process management within the Paint PE Dept.

    Reporting to the PE Manager, the person in this role will support the Paint Department's objective to lead chronic problem resolution, support quality improvement, and control costs. The Engineer will also work with Production Group Leaders and Managers to lead projects associated with cost, quality, productivity, and safety.

    What you'll be doing

    • Lead Quality improvements through PFMEA / QCP creation and execution.

    • Lead Cost improvement through Ideal Gentani calculation, gap analysis, kaizen and standardization.

    • Lead equipment and refurbishment projects and/or process changes.

    • Lead new material introductions to production processes.

    • Develop project proposals, strategies, operating plans, and budget proposals.

    • Lead and coordinate projects related to production improvements and process enhancements.

    • Work closely with cross-functional teams across shops and regions to achieve common objectives.

    • Support production-initiated kaizen to ensure no negative KPI impact

    What you bring

    • Bachelor's Degree (or higher) in Engineering OR similar technical degree OR 5+ years of equivalent professional experience in the Automotive Industry.

    • Microsoft Office proficiency (Excel, Word, Power Point, Project).

    • Project management experience from scope of work through bid awards and contractor oversight.

    • Experience in Process Failure Mode Effect and Analysis as well as Quality Control Plan creation

    • Experience in creating, analyzing, and reporting data - using tools such as PowerBi

    Added bonus if you have:

    • Knowledge and experience of Ryohin Joken (RJ) concepts and execution.

    • Experience in budget planning, proposal, and oversight.

    • Design experience with AutoCAD, Inventor, or similar CAD software including the ability to read & modify both 2D and 3D drawings

    • Experience in paint quality instrumentation (Color, Wavescan, Film build).

    • 2+ years of experience with paint related defect analysis and problem solving

    • Completed TBP (Toyota Business Process) training through the panel phase.

    • Working knowledge of experience with SAP Ariba or similar procurement and supply chain management systems.
