Who We're Looking For
Toyota's Cyber Security Risk Management (CSRM) Department is looking for a passionate and highly motivated Principal AWS Solutions Architect and Engineer for the Cyber Analytics Platform team.
The main responsibility of this role is to serve as a hands-on technical leader, focusing on architecting, designing, implementing, and managing large-scale, multi-region data lake and analytics solutions on AWS, ensuring that these solutions are secure, robust, scalable, and effective.
Reporting to the Sr. Manager, the person in this role will collaborate closely with data architects and engineers, network engineers, analysts, program managers, and other engineering teams to support Cyber Defense Services' objective to empower the corporation to efficiently identify, detect, investigate, and respond to cyber threats for TMNA and Toyota affiliates.
What You'll Be Doing
Lead the engineering efforts for AWS solutions. Stay current with the latest advancements in related technologies. Identify opportunities, develop strategies, design architecture, and establish best practices to optimize a cloud-based data lake and processing framework that supports real-time and near real-time data ingestion, processing, monitoring, and reporting.
Design Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions using tools to automate cloud environments at scale.
Create and maintain technical documentation, architectural diagrams, and best practices.
Provide leadership and mentoring to junior engineers.
What You Bring
Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
Extensive expertise in designing and implementing large-scale, multi-region cloud data lake solutions, with a focus on streaming and event-driven logging using AWS services (e.g. VPC, Transit Gateway, various connectivity options, MSK, EC2, Lambda, Glue, S3, KMS, IAM, CloudWatch, etc.)
Strong knowledge of networking concepts, security best practices, and cloud infrastructure architecture.
Expert level of experience with AWS container services such as EKS and ECS.
Familiarity with AI/ML solution architecture principles and frameworks, and the ability to collaborate with teams to design and maintain secure, scalable workflows for model development and deployment.
Keen interest in staying updated with and adopting emerging technologies.
Proficiency in defining Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools such as Terraform to automate the provisioning and management of cloud resources.
Preferred programming expertise: Python, SQL, Server-less cloud programming (functions, lambdas, etc.).
Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
Proven track record of successfully leading engineering teams or projects.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
Commitment to the organization's vision statement and decision-making framework, understanding how team and personal goals contribute to the organization's vision.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, innovative work environment. While the primary schedule is standard business hours, the role requires flexibility to adjust working hours, including weekends and outside regular business hours, to support urgent cybersecurity incidents and collaborate with global affiliates.

AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Professional is strongly preferred
Experience in cybersecurity domain
Experience with SIEM solutions, such as Microsoft Sentinel, is a plus.
Familiarity with other cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure, with a focus on their big data and analytics services.
