    Who we're looking for

    Toyota Corporate Tax Department is looking for a passionate and highly motivated Sales Tax Operations Manager.

    The primary responsibility of this role is to lead the Corporate Sales Tax Operations group by aligning tax strategy with Toyota Financial Services' business goals.

    Reporting to the National Manager of Sales and Property Tax, you will drive compliance, manage tax audits, support system implementations, and foster strong partnerships across multiple business units to ensure seamless sales tax operations nationwide.

    What you'll be doing

    In this role, your leadership will ensure Toyota Financial Services stays compliant with evolving sales tax laws while supporting business innovation and operational excellence. Success means managing a high-performing team that delivers accurate tax operations, supports new initiatives, and minimizes audit risks.

    • Lead and manage foundational relationships with HQ and field business units to ensure compliance with all state and local sales tax laws.

    • Oversee and update all tax-related operating procedures, guides, and bulletins to reflect current policies and regulations.

    • Manage sales and use tax audits with external authorities, driving them to conclusion with minimal findings and business impact.

    • Provide operational sales tax support to field offices and collaborate on new initiatives, ensuring compliance and smooth system configurations.

    • Take accountability for team performance, fostering a culture of inclusion, accountability, and continuous feedback.

    • Lead recruitment, development, and cross-training efforts to build a strong, versatile team.

    • Partner with Legal, Field Services, Sales Operations, Strategic Innovation, and other departments to support tax operations and business changes.

    • Drive projects that enhance tax compliance, operational efficiency, and identify value-add opportunities for Toyota Financial Services.

    What you bring

    • Bachelor's degree in business, tax, accounting, or related field.

    • 5+ years of progressive experience in sales tax operations, preferably within financial services or automotive leasing.

    • Proven leadership skills with experience managing teams and driving performance accountability.

    • Strong collaboration and communication skills to work effectively across diverse teams and stakeholders.

    • Willingness to travel up to 5% domestically

    Added bonus if you have

    • Advanced degree

    • CPA certification

    • 2+ years of experience in BIG 4 accounting firm environment

    • Knowledge of automotive leasing transactional tax and nationwide sales tax laws
