Who we're looking for
Toyota's TFS Voluntary Protection Products (VPP) Department is looking for a passionate and highly motivated Senior Analyst, Reinsurance.
Voluntary Protection Products (VPP) is a significant contributor of profit to TFS and franchised dealers. TFS leverages various programs, to enhance dealer profitability, optimize risk management and improve capital efficiency while providing our franchised dealers and customers with competitive protection products.
Reporting to the Manager, Reinsurance and Programs, the Senior Analyst, Reinsurance will be responsible for the development, execution, and support of VPP programs.
Key responsibilities include program strategy & enhancements, research and development of new programs, analysis of existing programs, program operations, system support and implementation, and relationship management. This role requires a strategic and analytical approach to develop and enhance programs, drive dealer engagement, and support VPP objectives.
What you'll be doing
The primary responsibilities of this role include:
- Program Strategy & Enhancements
Develop recommendations independently or with limited supervision to build strong and compelling business cases on program enhancements.
Clearly and effectively communicate complex topics and solutions for management approval
Research & Development
Lead key project initiatives and develop new or enhanced programs including the development of the programs and specific features based on competitive benchmarking and optimal profitability
Build and monitor project plans to execute timely implementation within budget
Analysis
Apply financial/accounting acumen and data analytics techniques to identify business problems and develop solutions, while partnering with various technology teams
Query and organize data to provide insights and recommendations, and regularly review program portfolio health, compliance, and profitability
What you bring
Four-Year College Degree (BA or BS)
Progressive experience in insurance, finance, accounting, information technology, or related fields
Project management experience, balancing business and customer needs to create successful programs
Experience with contracts (redlining documents, electronic document management, knowledge of legal terminology in contracts, etc.)
Strong operations background & impeccable organization skills to manage requests and priorities
Demonstrated verbal and written communications skills when communicating with business partners
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with emphasis on profitability, loss control, and/or proforma
Advanced ability to query, manipulate, and present data utilizing Microsoft Excel, Tableau or similar tools
Added bonus if you have
Advanced degree: Any specific degree: MBA, MS Accounting or Law
CPA or Accounting Big Four experience, CFA, Actuary, or demonstrated financial acumen
Experience with OFAC (Office of Foreign Asset Control)
Experience with program research and development in automotive/retail finance and insurance "F&I" arena which includes retail protection/insurance products and related participation and reinsurance
Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft PowerApps, Tableau, Oracle Hyperion, and/or other similar tools
Knowledge of programming languages (Java, JavaScript, Python, SQL) and Agile methodology
Experience with various applications/systems (Jira, Confluence, SAP, Snowflake, Mainframe and AS400)
Technology system migration experience
