Engineering Operations Director

Xperi seeks a highly skilled and experience Engineering Operations Director to join our dynamic team and further enhance our engineering capabilities. This role involves overseeing the daily operations of our nearly 300 professionals and very talented engineers, ensuring smooth project execution, and continually driving the development of our TiVo OS. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in embedded software development, hardware, and frontend technologies, with a deep understanding and proven experience in the TV industry, including broadcast, certifications, application onboarding, and collaboration with ODMs and OEMs.

What You Will Get to Do:

• Oversee projects and activities, ensuring timely and successful completion.

• Provide sound technical leadership in embedded software development, hardware, and front-end technologies.

• Collaborate with cross-functional and internal teams to drive the development of our TV operating system.

• Ensure quality, performance, user experience, and compliance with industry standards and certifications.

• Establish and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including customers, ODMs, and OEMs.

• Find solutions to technical and process problems, offering clear and actionable feedback to the engineering team.

• Stay updated with new technologies, tools, and industry trends.

• Work very closely with Global Senior Leadership to influence the future of TiVo OS and other Xperi products.

Who We Are Looking For:

• Proven track record of leading cross-functional engineering teams and delivering successful business transformation initiatives

• Strong technical skills in embedded software development, hardware, and frontend technologies.

• In-depth understanding and proven experience in the TV industry, including broadcast, certifications, and content onboarding.

• Experience working with ODMs and OEMs.

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities

• Customer focus would at the core of any decision-making process

• Ability to work under time pressure and flexibility with the US West Coast time zones

Systematic & data-driven problem-solver

• Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects and tasks effectively.

• Fluent in written and spoken English.

• Higher education in a relevant field, preferably with postgraduate qualifications or certification in project management or an MBA.
