Staff Engineer - UI / UX Designer

The UX/UI Designer at TiVo will collaborate closely with Product Managers, Developers, Marketing, and other stakeholders to translate business requirements and user needs into seamless experiences - including wireframing, UI design, prototyping and spec creation.

• Is collaborative and creative, but can deliver on his or her own at all phases of design.

• Promotes forward thinking in brainstorming - asks "what if?" rather than just saying "no" - considers and progresses ideas rather than shooting them down.

• Thrives as a part of an immersive, collaborative, user-centered design team and works as a member of a team (a "we", not "I" attitude).

• Plays a part in every step of realizing their design vision - from start to finish (conceptualization, wire framing, mocks/comps/reviews, finalizing design, and creating assets).

Responsibilities:

• Work on UI, UX and Visual design of the TiVo IPTV products.

• Work with the Product Manager to conceptualize new features to provide a targeted, guided user experience.

• Coordinate and collaborate with other designers to help ensure consistency across TiVo's family of IPTV products.

• Responsible for UI and UX on TiVo''s IPTV experience, asset delivery and production for the software team, as well as conducting and incorporating user research into the product.

• Design responsive and platform-specific UI (Web, iOS, Android, TV)

• Maintain and evolve design systems and component libraries

• Ensure accessibility compliance (WCAG standards, color contrast, readability)

• Work closely with developers to ensure design feasibility and quality execution

• Iterate designs based on user feedback, analytics, and performance data

• Advocate for user-first design decisions across the organization

• Write design specifications and ensure that we implement these specifications through the development cycle and delivery.

Qualifications:

• 8+ years of experience in UI, UX, and visual design across the Web, software, mobile, and TV experiences (or some sub-set, with TV experience highly desirable). Consumer electronic product experience is a huge plus, such as set-top boxes, smartphones, or other hand-held devices.

• BFA-MA in graphic design, visual communication design, interaction design, or professional equivalent.

• Strong portfolio showcasing user-centered design solutions

• Proficiency in design tools such as Figma

• Solid understanding of interaction design, typography, layout, and visual hierarchy

• Knowledge of accessibility best practices

• Emotionally intelligent, optimistic, visionary, entrepreneurial, candid, and results-oriented.

• Ability to multitask in startup and maturing business environments.

• Decisive and effective at issue tracking and resolution.

• Solid interpersonal skills.

• Excellent oral and written communication skills

Bonus Points:

• Experience working in an Agile and/or cross-functional environment.

• Practical knowledge of Web, iOS, and/or Android development.

• Digital prototyping skills a huge plus.

• Basic understanding of front-end development (HTML/CSS) is a plus
