    This role is in the Industry Software organization, this team builds the platforms and tools that power real estate professionals' success. Our mission is to simplify workflows, improve transparency, and help agents, brokers, and MLS partners deliver better outcomes for their clients.

    We operate at the intersection of product innovation, technical complexity, and business impact, creating systems that connect with MLS data, scale with Zillow's consumer traffic, and deliver growth, productivity and marketing leverage to industry professionals.

    About the role

    You will have the opportunity to act as both the glue and the grease between our Product Management and Engineering teams. You will manage the lifecycle and execution of some of our largest and most critical initiatives across the organization. You will facilitate cross-team collaboration, cross-functional communication, and engineering efficiency. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

    As a Principal Technical Program Manager, You Will Get To:

    • Support multiple engineering teams that drive full stack development of tools, systems, and applications.

    • Collaborate across organizational boundaries including acting as a liaison for engineering with partners in Product Management, Design, UX Research, Marketing, and Partnerships.

    • Drive large programs to achieve organizational goals.

    • Manage complex, cross-functional technology initiatives both at the tactical and strategic level

    • Maintain and report on program status, identify risks and gaps, and seek opportunities to optimize timely delivery of projects

    • Assess risks, anticipate bottlenecks, balance business needs versus technical constraints and refine scope to deliver the best product possible on schedule

    • Engage leadership effectively when needed and find a path forward in difficult situations

    • Make trade-offs between short-term needs vs. long-term needs

    This role has been categorized as a Remote position. "Remote" employees do not have a permanent corporate office workplace and, instead, work from a physical location of their choice, which must be identified to the Company. U.S. employees may live in any of the 50 United States, with limited exceptions.

    In California, Connecticut, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Washington state, and Washington DC the standard base pay range for this role is $178,300.00 - $284,700.00 annually. This base pay range is specific to these locations and may not be applicable to other locations.In Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Minnesota, Nevada, Ohio, Rhode Island, and Vermont the standard base pay range for this role is $169,300.00 - $270,500.00 annually. The base pay range is specific to these locations and may not be applicable to other locations.

    In addition to a competitive base salary this position is also eligible for equity awards based on factors such as experience, performance and location. Actual amounts will vary depending on experience, performance and location. Employees in this role will not be paid below the salary threshold for exempt employees in the state where they reside.

    Who you are

    • 7+ years of experience in software program management, including leading significant cross-functional projects in mid-size or large companies

    • A first-hand solid understanding of current web development technologies, distributed architecture, and agile development methodology. Mobile experience is a plus.

    • Outstanding oral and written communication skills

    • Able to think clearly, analyze quantitatively, problem-solve, scope technical requirements, and prioritize tasks

    • Strong business and technical vision and the ability to communicate that vision clearly

    • Able to balance multiple contending priorities in a fast-paced environment
