Discovery Strategy Insights & Planning Consultant ZS Consultants support our clients' biomedical research activities and ensure breakthrough insights, productivity and efficiency in their research operations including drug discovery, translational medicine and pre-clinical studies. Research & Development Solution Area R&D brings together experts in Strategy, Research, Clinical Execution, Data Sciences and Technology to empower client organizations achieve their passion for patient care, science and business success. Through our “Biomedical Innovation”, “Lifecycle Evidence Strategy”, “Clinical Trial Optimization”, “Medical Affairs” and “Real World Evidence” services, we deliver impact where it matters, from early drug development to commercialization. This role will be aligned with ZS R&D Solution Area across multiple clients. What You’ll Do: Provide scientific and functional subject matter expertise to strategy engagements for research transformation services and engagements; Collaborate with clients and ZS teams to understand and frame scientific questions and required insights and translate into experimental design for research studies and analyses; Participate and lead scientific consulting engagements to perform research and analysis in performance of experimental designs, formulate and synthesize results and communicate findings to key stakeholders. Scientific consulting engagements will focus on target identification and validation, lead generation and optimization, biomarker discovery and validation and patient stratification; Provide and develop subject matter expertise in various research data domains (assay data, omics data, biomarker data, PK/PD data, patient data, molecular and systems biology data) and help develop common data models and data management frameworks for research data domains; Represent ZS R&D business in discovery, translational medicine and pre-clinical functions and drive innovation, business case development, and lead user needs assessment workshops and roadmap development for existing and new opportunities; Build ongoing direct client relationships with key business users and leaders including client presentations and managing multiple projects simultaneously; Coach and mentor teams, conduct & develop training programs to contribute to capability building and knowledge sharing What You’ll Bring: PhD, PharmD or MD with bachelor's (and often MS) degrees with a strong academic record in molecular or cell biology, genetics or genomics, bioinformatics, translational research, oncology, immunology, medical or life sciences; Up to 6 years of post-graduate relevant work experience in the Life Sciences industry with R&D expertise; Expertise in the areas of discovery or translational research, biomarker or companion diagnostic development, genomics, proteomics and bioinformatics, PK/PD, ADME; Knowledge of the pre-clinical drug discovery and research process, methods, data and technologies, including AI based approaches to drug discovery (preferred); Hands on experience working with research, discovery and translational analytics, systems and data including NGS sequencing, genomic analytical pipelines, proteomics assays and analytics, bio-samples data, LIMS, ELN and real-world data (RWD); Experience managing, developing and coaching team members; Working knowledge of data standards and experience with TRANSMART preferred. Additional Skills: Understanding of downstream R&D functions and methods such as PK/PD, toxicology, epidemiology, clinical development, etc; Up to speed with latest industry trends in genomics, proteomics, bioinformatics and R&D data management; Superior verbal and written communication, organization, analytic, planning and leadership skills; Ability to distill complex concepts into easy-to-understand frameworks and presentations; Willingness to travel to other global offices as needed to work with client or other internal project teams.
