    • Position

      Senior Manager, IT

      Modesto, CA

My name is Ramena Isaac-Kando and I’m a Sr. Manager in IT partnering with our HR organization to ensure their goals and objectives are executed with excellence. I was born and raised in the Central Valley of California and am a first-generation college graduate. I graduated from CSU Stanislaus with a degree in Accounting and Computer Information Systems. I started my career with Gallo after college and have been extremely grateful for the relationships and experiences I have had these past 15 years.

Shortly after joining Gallo, I was diagnosed with ovarian cancer and underwent surgery and treatment. The hardest part was taking time off work when I had just begun my career. With the support of my family, friends and colleagues I fought through it and returned to the office after 3 months. My Gallo family was so supportive during this time and it will never be forgotten. Courage and drive is what keeps me going!!!

I married my husband in 2007 and we adopted our beautiful baby boy in 2011. I am so grateful for the support and work life balance that Gallo continues to provide.

Over my career at Gallo, I have had the opportunity to contribute in many areas of the business (Accounting, Finance and Information Technology) and have driven many corporate-wide initiatives. I am also very passionate about recruiting great talent and giving back to the community. I lead the IT Undergrad Recruiting efforts which brings in new interns and college graduates from local and national universities each year.

I take every new project, job, and obstacle as a learning opportunity to grow. The two most important things in life are family and career, and I do my best every day to keep a good balance.

As a first-generation college student from Kansas City, Missouri, Jennifer appreciate the value of hard work.  “I was lucky to have amazing parents that supported me and instilled the value of an education from a young age.  When I got to Mizzou I knew that I didn’t just want to graduate; I wanted to make a difference and see the world.”  During her time at University of Missouri, Jennifer traveled to more than 15 countries while working as a Student Manager for the College of Business Study Abroad Programs, and taught English.  She developed a passion for training and developing others, which has helped her succeed and advance her career quickly at E. & J. Gallo Winery.  “My time at Mizzou taught me the same core values that Gallo looks for in all employees: Integrity, Respect, Humility, Innovation, Commitment, and Teamwork.”

Jennifer started her career with Gallo in the Sales Leadership Development Program in Houston, TX where she advanced from Sales Representative to District Sales Manager.  Jennifer then moved to Seattle, WA where she was named “District Sales Manager of the Year” in 2013.  While serving as the Field Marketing Manager for the state of Washington, Jennifer had the chance to move to Dallas, TX in the same role, where she currently resides.  “Gallo has given me the opportunity to continue my goal of seeing the world.  I have had the opportunity to live in three cities so far, and it has been an amazing journey.”

On the weekends Jennifer spends time with her husband and their two cats.  “We eventually want to start a family and I am lucky to work for a company that supports that.”  She has also continued her passion for traveling and experiencing new cultures.  This May, she visited Portugal which marked her 22nd country.

When asked why she has stayed at the same company since graduation, Jennifer responded, “It’s the people, the opportunity for advancement, and the support of women in the workplace.”

    • Name

      Christina Gomez

    • Position

      Director, Internal Audit

      Modesto, CA

I am a Finance and Accounting professional with 18 years of work experience. Of those, 10 have been with E. & J. Gallo Winery.  I remember the point when I realized that more than half of my career was with Gallo and the internal validation I felt knowing I was at the right place. Many of my personal values align to Gallo’s values, and that makes it a great fit for both of us. As the daughter of migrant farmworkers, I share in the humbleness that is part of the company’s culture.

I graduated from San Jose State University receiving my degree in Business Administration with a double concentration in Accounting and Computer Information Systems. I am happy to report that the extra effort for the dual concentration has served me well throughout my career.  Over the past 10 years, I have rotated through roles in Accounting, Finance, and Internal Audit.  All provided the opportunity to drive large impactful projects.

Now with that out of the way, I’ll talk about my real job – Mom. I am a mother of two children (8 and 5 years old).  This makes work life balance more than something people talk about, but something I truly need and something that is extremely important to me.  I love the flexibility that I have at Gallo which is so important when you are a woman striving to balance both a career and mom aspirations.  Gallo provides me the ability to break away from work when I need to for my mom life, and also provides an environment for great career growth and challenges when I need to break away from my mom life!

With all that said, none of this would be possible without my husband, who always has and continues to support me through all aspects of my life.
