Balancing work and family life can be challenging, and this is especially true for the many parents who find themselves strapped for time or deprived of sleep. If you feel this way, you’re not alone. According to the U.S. Department of Labor, over 60% of families with children have both parents working outside the home. Other research finds that most working parents say that balancing the responsibilities of both their jobs and their families can be challenging.

Fortunately, more and more companies are recognizing the need to support their employees with family-friendly policies and benefits. Today, we’ve rounded up 12 organizations that are leading the way in promoting healthy work-life balances for working parents.

48forty Solutions

48forty Solutions is the largest pallet-management services company in North America with a national network of over 252 facilities, including 73 company-owned and operated pallet recycling plants and more than 850 partners. Due to their ability to attract and retain a diverse workforce, including working parents, 48forty Solutions has become the largest and fastest-growing integrated end-to-end supply chain solutions provider in North America. The company is proud to offer opportunities that empower employees, including working parents, in their supply chain and beyond.

Brother USA

Brother USA offers working parents tons of benefits that they love, including flexible hours and a hybrid policy that allows employees to work from home or remotely two days per week. Their core hours are from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., providing parents some more time in the mornings or after-school hours depending on whether they prefer to come in early or work later. Brother also offers Flexible Fridays year-round, which give employees a half day to start their weekends early. Eligible employees can also take advantage of weeks that are designated as Work From Home weeks; these are pre-scheduled around key holidays throughout the year to provide additional work-life balance.

Computershare

Computershare is a global leader in financial administration with over 12,000 employees across more than 21 different countries. Computershare is also focused on ensuring that all employees — including parents — can achieve work-life balance. For instance, employees receive the support that they need to balance their professional and personal lives — whether they need to take care of their family, go to school, take military leave, or take time away from work to volunteer. The company has also updated their family leave program in the United States to include more paid parental leave, which further shows how they invest in their employees. “As both a parent and a manager of others who are parents at Computershare, I am proud to say that my company fully supports the always-on needs of parents.” Shares Amy Perras, Global Head of Portfolio Marketing.
