I once "left in a huff" when I worked at a garden center. At the end of the season, management didn't have the courage to just lay people off, so they posted a bunch of rules that nobody could comply with and said that non-compliance was cause for dismissal. I actually wrote on the rule poster "Take this job and shove it!" I went back a couple weeks later and apologized for my behavior. The good part is, one lady who I was sure would be fired got promoted! It was good because she was a nice lady and very underappreciated. Good luck, and keep us posted!

That's great you had the courage to go back and apologized in a timely manner. I have several social mishaps in my career, and I would like to apologize to several individuals, but I don't want to rehash bad feelings.
