Welcome to I Love My Job, the series where we hear from women who really love their jobs. In this edition, we spoke with Kristina McClung, Quality Assurance Coach in Health Navigation at Alight Solutions.

McClung began her journey at Alight nearly ten years ago, starting in the Benefits Center, where she took calls and assisted clients with their benefits needs. In 2018, she transitioned to Quality Assurance on the advocacy side of the business.

McClung loves how Alight “looks out for everyone” and supports them in their roles and beyond, giving employees numerous opportunities to thrive and grow in their careers. This year, she took on a leadership position as an operations chair within the Women’s Professional Network.

“It’s rewarding and fulfilling getting to learn all of the different tools, getting to meet a bunch of women that work in the company, and learning about the different roles,” McClung says. “I’m getting to meet women from all over the world.”

In this video, McClung shares why she loves working at Alight. We also provide lightly edited highlights from the video discussion in the following article.

What do you find rewarding about working at Alight?

Here at Alight, we focus on recognition and rewards, as well as the well-being of all employees, and giving everyone a chance to grow and develop within the company. They look out for everyone and are there to help whenever we need anything—whether we have to call out of work because we’re sick or something happened in our family. There is always someone to turn to and always someone to help.

Even if you just need a few hours off from your computer because something recently happened, they want to be there for your well-being and make sure you’re okay. Leadership is always reaching out with resources. It’s more like a family than just a place to work. Alight is adaptable. They know life happens.

How does Alight support you?

Alight supports everyone in their growth from within. I remember when I was ready to look for a different position; I wasn’t quite sure what I wanted to do, but I joined some of the Colleague Led Communities (CLCs) and other groups. I met with other people, and as I did, I networked and learned about different roles. Then, I was able to choose what path I wanted to take. That’s how I was able to progress to my new role within Quality Assurance.

There are great resources at Alight, including online courses to help you progress to your next position.

How does Alight support women at the company in particular?

Alight is a wonderful place to work for women. There’s a lot of growth and potential for women within the company. There’s inclusion and diversity, and we have our CLCs, such as the Women’s Professional Network. Within that group, many different women are looking to empower each other and help one another grow. It’s a great place for women to thrive together.

Whatever you’re looking for in your career, hobbies, or interests, you’ll find someone to connect with, and if you’re going through something difficult, all these women have your back. There’s just so much inclusion.
