- This is based on typical US maternal disability benefits providing 6 weeks disability for vaginal birth and 8 weeks disability coverage for C-section. Then, the mother gets 8 weeks paid for parental leave. Not sure how they get another 1 week paid, but I suspect it is for pre-partum.
