These companies provide the support you need to thrive.
      What you need to know

As the institution with the largest undergraduate student body in New Mexico, Central New Mexico Community College (CNM) provides affordable education to over 30,000 students and offers rewarding career opportunities to over 2,000 faculty and staff.

Despite our large size, we still think of ourselves as the "CNM Family." Our diverse community of leadership, faculty, and staff work cohesively and collaboratively to make a positive difference in our students' lives, while always exploring ways to improve the institution.

      Gender diversity

The Office of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (ODEI) is dedicated to advancing CNM's six core values by embedding inclusion, diversity, equity, accessibility, and the well-being of our diverse community into the fabric of institutional excellence.

Established in 2022 by the CNM Governing Board, President Hartzler, and the CNM Equity Council, the ODEI is led by an Executive Director and a DEI Leadership Team consisting of individuals throughout the enterprise. The Office and the college is committed to implementing collaborative and institutionally transformative strategies that promote a caring and equitable environment where all community members are respected and valued. As a Hispanic and Minority Serving Institution that enrolls many Native and Indigenous students, CNM works to build relationships with our diverse communities and to truly serve all of our students, families, and community partners.

The Office of DEI supports multiple  Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) which provide advocacy, leadership development, and resources to historically underserved and/or underrepresented populations. These ERGs include the CNM Equity Council, CNM Unidos, CNM Native American Advisory Council, CNM Black History Month Committee, and the CNM LGBTQIA2S+ Advisory Council. Additionally, the Office of DEI continually seeks out partnerships with local and regional partners in support of efforts to build economically, culturally, and environmentally just systems throughout our service region.
