However, a quick glance at recent hires throughout the US organization - field and office, both - shows that this talk doesn't always extend into action. Take a look at the board. While the CEO expresses a focus on diversity, the reality doesn't line up with the words."

Depending on the department that you join, you may find great mentors and women in leadership positions, but this is highly variable across the different organizations within Agilent. Healthcare is expensive, though. Even though some might say that women in leadership at a tech company is a challenge, there are many women at Agilent in individual contributor roles, so it's not simply a matter of talent pool and availability. "

"I remember telling my previous manager about my pregnancy. I was nervous, but she couldn't be happier.. and she has supported me constantly. From a human perspective, but also professionally. I have been also put through an emerging leaders development program, because she truly believed in me. Coming back to work has been tough for me. I also had a new manager... but again, I have been treated extremely fairly and I have been given the flexibility I need, which is helping me to do (very) well at work. I felt and feel supported. Consistently."

"There are not many women in the field sales department so district/regional meetings are more male-centric. At the last meeting, I was approached at the bar we were all at in our hotel by another account manager who got very possessive and aggressive. One of my male colleagues had to come intervene and we were able to go to a different area without any drama. There were plenty of managers present for all of this, all of whom were male, and they found it humorous if anything. The next night a woman in upper management was there and miraculously everyone started being very respectful towards the women in our group. I like what I do but I find that I am always on alert and have to watch what I say very carefully because anything too "girly" would fuel the fire. Territories are reassigned very frequently based on performance so while I could take maternity leave I am quite certain I would return to have lost all of my prime sales territory."
