March 2018

Like all large companies there are gender imbalances to manage. But when they occur, there is a great process and system for navigating them. As a whole P&G really does try to walk the talk

The IT department has great flexibility for the most part. Again depends on upper leadership. Some other departments offer very little flexibility.

We're recent empty nesters and want to move from the area (central Illinois). I'm unsure if, or when, this might occur.

May 2016

My experience is 3 years old so I can't give a current perspective on them. I was a remote contractor whose job went full time but moved to another state. What I'd say is, they don't yet VALUE the impact of lost talent due to remote work arrangements.

The majority of staff are women, but the staff is not particularly diverse. It's not the easiest place to network, and nearly impossible to move up in the organization.

They will not hire you for a secretary position if you are a woman. The owner asked me in my interview if I was married or had kids, and I later found out that they do not hire unmarried women.

April 2015

The emphasis here is way too much on putting in hours rather than achieving results. I observed that usually when employees request flexible schedules, job sharing, and/or telecommuting, their requests are denied. As a result, UH loses talented employees who can easily land employment with other universities. If you care about a good work/life balance, choose your manager carefully because you will want to find one willing to buck the UH norm.
