"A lot depends on what department one is in, and I was part of several. Overall, as a place of higher education, the University holds up to being a gender neutral environment with quite good benefits for the region. "

"Your experience will vary greatly depending on which department you work for, and in what role. If you are teaching, be prepared for a lack of support in terms of adversity you experience compared to that of your male (or white) colleagues.
It is a party school, but there are also really earnest, hardworking students. The student body is very diverse in terms of economic background, so you'll find different students are attending with different expectations and needs. Some departments lack a lot of oversight, which is good depending on how much support and freedom you want/need."
