NPR is an amazing place to interview and hires some really great, generous, and talented people.

Unless you are very upper leadership, I think this workplace has pretty good work-life balance, but there is no maternity policy at all.

Implement an Ethics & HR Board, stop sexually harassing your employees and violating EEOC rules and regulations. Pay your employees for actual work and placements they have made. Improve work life balance (there is absolutely nonexistent, regardless of what anyone tells you)

October 2017

This is a culture that seems more like the 1980's or 1990's than present day. It has a siloed hierarchical structure that puts departments and individuals in competition with each other.

January 2016

Predominantly male company. Supportive of breastfeeding upon return to work. Growing company, so policies are developing with it. Ownership is slow to change and modernize policies, so women-friendly policies are probably a long way off. No specific maternity leave policy. Falls under STD policy: salaried employees receive 6 weeks pay for birth of child (8 weeks for C-section) at 100%, hourly employees receive same allotments at 60% pay.

May 2015

There are a lot of women working there, many in high-up positions. However, being female doesn't necessarily equate with being compassionate, and not always with being talented. In short: don't get too close to anyone for the first year or so.
