"Definitely a white man's good old boy environment in many aspects, though the white men in management don't recognize it.
Pay is below industry standard and many leave to find much better pay and more flexibility.
They promote management from within, and a lot of those are young people who have never managed people before. Management positions only pay about $2k more than underwriting positions so not really a move up, just more responsibility and less work/life balance.
Not many opportunities for advancement unless you are at Home Office in Lansing, MI.
