Maybe. If they really wanted to work at a museum, it's a place to do that and then move on.

Working in a garden is delightful, however unless you're into events and marketing events, or working behind the scenes in the Horticulture Department there aren't maybe places to advance. The Desert Botanical Garden has a lot of roll-over for employees that aren't already in higher positions.

Maybe. It would depend on the department they were applying for. It's easier to grow and develop in the Events Dept. versus the Education Dept. for example.

This place is aweful. The mission of the organization is good, but leardership--the President in general--is dificult to work with, rude to women, and doesn't take employees ideas into account when making decisions.

This is a great and creative place to work, but pay should really be higher to account for cost of living.

The Met in general is very family and woman friendly. There are certainly ways the museum can be more innovative when it comes to work-life balance and providing opportunities for growth or advancement.

While The Met provides a generous parental leave policy and allows for a maximum of 26 weeks' leave, I had to use my accrued sick time in order to get paid for part of it. Otherwise the leave is unpaid.

There are a few great things about working here, but if you need money, this is not the place for you. They do not pay a living wage.

Maybe. If you need a quick stepping stone, stop here! Do not stay. The pay is a joke unless you are top management and top management keeps it that way.
