It's an ok place to work, the pay and PTO is just pitiful though. The flex time has made it bearable for me as it's allowed me to look after my young family as situations arise, but it's not enough to offset the financial strain forever.

The ability to work from home is reserved for only certain employees. If the policy was expanded to include "lower" level workers who had responsibilities that could be done remotely then the turn over would decrease greatly.

Maybe. If a woman has no intention of having children, she can go far but the culture is not particularly family-friendly.

We just got a nes CEO, so hopefully things continue to improve overall and especially for women.

I have found that there are more women within certain parts of the company due to the nature of work (sciences vs human resources) but, do not feel there has been any issues with hiring or retaining women. The organization is a research and development non-profit and the culture is welcoming and open.

I worked with Battelle as a contractor for about 4 years. It's a good company but the hours are very long. There don't seem to be many gender issues overtly but women within management are very very scarce.
