Departments can vary all over the spectrum. Also, do not assume that reporting to someone pregnant will yield any empathy. Surely, every department differs, but hopefully you do not have to resort to requesting any accommodation(s). I say this because my experience with the SOM HR was that they were willing to blatantly ignore federal law and argue with a passion for their convenience and gain. I ended up resigning and then having to appeal their "decision." I did win my case, but many cannot afford an attorney, especially without guarantee to win your case. It opened my eyes that even large corporations with a dedication to health and endless resources of professional opinions can still be unjust, unlawful, and unintelligent.

I worked here for 3 years. Most of the women were in administrative "mothering" roles or support roles. I was in a "creative" role and one C suite basically said I was in charge of making things pretty. Essentially, I was the "head decorator."

Most people work here their entire careers so the culture is old-school and slow to change. Male dominated but they are working hard to hire and promote more females. Many jobs require travel. There are few, if any, part-time or flextime jobs. Maternity leave is minimal (6 weeks?).You can use FMLA to extend without pay. Vacation time accrues pretty quickly (4 weeks in year 7). "Operations" jobs are tough but can be rewarding. Operations run 24 x 7 x 365 so you may be working nights and weekends if you start in these roles. Company is stable with strong future.
