"On the surface, BT talks a good game in relation to providing a fair and equitable workplace for women. However, this is sadly not the case.
-wage gap is very real in BT. I was doing the same job as a man, had the same experience. Yet, he was paid £120k, while I was paid £57k per annum. When I outperformed this man, I requested my wage to be reviewed. I was only offered a 10% increase.
-with most Covid restrictions now lifted, you are expected to be in London daily. As BT has a culture that your manager needs to monitor everything you do. God forbid your child is ill and you need time off.
-I had a really productive, respectful relationship with a male customer at a top company which led to a large deal for BT. Instead of receiving recognition for improving relations and delivering this large deal, my male BT boss decided to diminish my accomplishment by accusing me of “flirting” with this customer in order to obtain this deal.
-“Respect” is a non-existent concept in BT. It’s a just a very mean company, where people are spoken to and treated poorly. Often, men and women are in tears. With stress being the norm. HR is absolutely useless and facilitates this bad behaviour.
-Career progression is unlikely
Seriously, avoid this dying giant and hold off for a better employer"
